Watermelon Sherbet

 

Watermelon Sherbet Dessert Recipe

 

Recipes Ingredients
2/3 cup of sugar
1 ¼ cup of water
2½ of watermelon pulp (mashed)
2 egg whites

Preparation of Dessert

  1. In a small pot put the water and sugar to heat up, stir it till it dissolves.  When it starts to boil, lower the flame and cook for 10 minutes.  Take off the fire and let it cool off.
  2. Mix the mashed watermelon with the cold syrup and empty into a rectangular mold.  Freeze until it almost solidifies.
  3. Blend or whip the sherbet for 1 minute. Whip the egg whites till they foam, then mix them with the blended fruit using soft circular movements.  Return the mixture to the freezer till solidifies.
  • Mango and passion fruit Sherbet: Replace the mashed watermelon with 2 cups of mashed mango, and the pulp of 4 passion fruits.  Continue with steps from the watermelon sherbet.
  • Kiwi Sherbet: Replace the mashed watermelon with 2 cups of mashed kiwi,
     ½ cup of grapefruit and 2 tablespoon of crème de mint.  Continue with steps from the watermelon sherbet.
