Sparkling Wine Sherbet
Ingredients 300 ml sparkling wine ½ kg sugar 1 orange 1 lemon Italian meringue
Preparation
- Make syrup by boiling 500 ml of water with the sugar until it dissolves and thickens. Add the peel of the lemon and orange and let it sit for 2 hours, then strain it.
- Squeeze the orange and lemon and mix the juice with the sparkling wine and start adding the syrup while mixing it.
- Refrigerate for 10 min, take out and mix it and put it back in, do this a couple times.
- Once it begins to harden make the Italian meringue and let it cool.
- Before serving add the Italian meringue to the sherbet and serve in a tall glass.
Alternative
Ingredients 1 bottle sparkling wine ½ kg sugar 350 ml water 2 lemon (juice only)
Preparation
- Make syrup with the water and sugar.
- Place the wine in a clean bowl; add the hot syrup little by little while you continue to mix and then add the lemon juice.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Alternative
Ingredients 500 ml lemon or grape sherbet ½ bottle of sparkling wine
Preparation
- Put 2 tall glasses in the freezer for 15 min.
- Place to balls of sherbet in the cups and fill them up with the sparkling wine.
