Acne: apply a cataplasm or wash with the vinegar or do herbal baths.
Asthma: drink the infusion, 3 cups a day.
Hair softener: massage scalp with the vinegar.
Sedative: drink the infusion.
Scars: wash with the brew or vinegar.
Cuts and scrapes: apply the tincture over the affected area.
Diabetes: drink one cup of wine every day.
Digestive: drink one cup of the infusion after every meal. As wine, drink one cup with meals.
Diuretic: drink one cup of wine every day.
Menstrual pain: drink one cup of the infusion after every meal.
Gum inflammation: do gargles with the brew or the infusion, 2 to3 times a day. Also gargle with the tincture, 1 to 4 times a day, diluting 15 to 20 drops in 300ml of water.
Expectorant: drink the infusion, 3 times a day.
Pharyngitis: do gargles with the brew or infusion, 2 to 3 times a day. Also gargle with the tincture, 1 to 4 times a day, diluting 15 to 20 drops in 300ml of water.
Blows: massage with the tincture.
Mouth inflammation: do gargles with the brew or infusion, 2 to 3 times a day. Also gargle with the tincture, 1 to 4 times a day, diluting 15 to 20 drops in 300ml of water.
Bad breath: chew a fresh leaf.
Bad circulation: massage with the vinegar.
Menstrual problems: promotes and regulates the flow. In infusion, drink 3 cups a day. In wine, take 3 spoonfuls a day.
Rheumatism: take 20 to 25 drops of the tincture, 2 times a day.
Night sweats: used for menopause. Take two doses from 20 to 25 drops of the tincture before going to sleep.
Cough: drink the infusion.
Preparation
Herbal bath: add to the bath 300 to 500g of leaves per every 5 to 6 liter of water or the infusion, brew or essential oils.
Cataplasm: grind dry leaves until transforming into powder and soak in hot water or grind fresh leaves and mix with clay to form a paste. Place it in any natural porous fiber and use as bandage over affected area until discomfort diminishes. Also apply directly over affected area covering the paste with a hot towel.
Brew: boil 30g of leaves in a liter of water for 5 minutes. Filter and serve.
Infusion: add 20 to 40g of leaves in a liter of boiling water. Remove immediately and let stand for 10 minutes. Strain and serve.
Tincture: macerate 30g of sage in a mixture of 250g of alcohol of 90º and 100g of distilled water for 7 to 10 days. Filter and store it.
Vinegar: macerate the plant in vinegar, in the sun, between 15 to 20 days. Filter and store it.
Wine: macerate 50g of crushed sage in a liter of white wine for 7 days.
Precaution
Do not use in case of pregnancy, nursing, renal insufficiency, mammary tumors, treatments with estrogen. Do not use in children. Its prolonged use can cause stomach irritation. Its consumption interferes with the absorption of iron and other minerals.
