Rice Pudding and Pears

 

Rice Pudding and Pears

Ingredients
6 pears
100gr sugar
Vanilla

Rice pudding
100gr rice
1 liter milk
250gr sugar
Vanilla
Lemon peel

Preparation

  1. Cook the pears (previously peeled, remove the seeds and cut in two) in a liter of water with sugar and vanilla.
  2. Once cooked let them remain in the syrup.
  3. On the meantime, the rice pudding will have been prepared  cook the rice in water for a few minutes.
  4. Strain it and pass it through cold water.
  5. Put it in a casserole pot and add the milk which should be boiled with the vanilla and lemon peel.
  6. Cook for 10 minutes, add sugar and continue cooking for 10 more minutes.
  7. Place into a tray and let it cool off.
  8. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and place on top of the pears, pour the syrup on top and place into the fridge.

Practical advice
If you wish, you could replace the sugar and cinnamon with burnt sugar. Sprinkle the rice with sugar and burn it with a hot iron, forming shapes  squares, rhombus, etc.
