Prune & Apple Crumble Recipe
Ingredients 1 kg of prunes, without the core and soaking in 1 liter of water 1 kg of red or green apple 1 teaspoon of finely grated orange peel
Crumble Cover Recipe ½ cup of flour 1 teaspoon of ground assorted spices 60 grams of butter, in small pieces 1/3 cup of brown sugar 90 grams of ground hazel nuts
Preparation
- Cover: Place the flour and spices in a bowl, and mix it with the butter using your finger tips until you obtain a sandy mixture. Add the sugar and hazel nuts, and mix again.
- Drain the prunes and apples and keep aside ¾ of the water that the prunes were soaked in. Mix the grated orange peel with the prunes and the water you put aside used for soaking. Pour it all in a greased refractory. Scatter on top the crumble mixture and bake for 30-35 minutes or until it turns brown.
