Acne and furuncles: apply a cataplasm of fresh leaves over the affected area or wash with the brew or maceration.
Bile affections: drink the infusion.
Kidney affections: drink the infusion.
Arthrosis: apply hot compresses over affected area.
Asthma: drink the infusion 2 times a day. Can also be taken as juice.
Scars: apply a fresh leave cataplasm over affected area.
Conjunctivitis: wash area with the brew or juice.
Toothache: apply a few drops from the juice over the affected area or place fresh and clean leaves over the affected area.
Earache: apply drops from the juice over the affected area or wash with maceration.
Pharyngitis: chew fresh leaves or do gargles with the maceration.
Gastritis: drink 2 cups a day of the infusion.
Blows: apply a fresh leave cataplasm over the affected area.
Hemorrhoids: apply a cataplasm, compress or ointment over the affected area.
Mouth inflammation: chew the fresh leaves or do gargles with the maceration.
Skin inflammation: wash with the brew or maceration from the leaves or apply a cataplasm or ointment over the affected area.
Blood cleanliness: drink 2 cups a day in infusion.
Insect bites: apply a fresh leave cataplasm over the affected area or wash with the brew.
Burns: apply a fresh leave cataplasm over the affected area or clean with the brew.
Cough: drink the infusion.
Preparation
Cataplasm: grind 60g of fresh leaves until transforming it to powder. Place them in any natural porous fiber and use as bandage over affected area until discomfort diminishes. Also apply directly over affected area covering the paste with a hot towel.
Brew: boil in low temperature 12g of leaves per cup of water during 5 minutes or 50g of leaves in a liter of water for one minute.
Compresses: submerge any natural porous fiber in the infusion of 60g of leaves per liter of water and place it over the affected area until discomfort diminishes.
Creams and ointments: melt in low temperature vegetal fat and add plantain juice. Remove from heat, strain and refrigerate until firm. Also grind plantain leaves and mix with Vaseline.
Infusion: add 10g of leaves to 100ml of boiling water, away from heat. Let stand for a few minutes.
Juice: crush the plant with a few drops of water. Place it in gauze, squeeze and strain the loose juice. Take it in spoonfuls diluted with water.
Maceration: let stand for one night 20g of leaves in 150ml of water.
Precaution
Do not use while pregnant. In case of nursing, do not use without medical supervision. Constant use can affect your sight. Do no use in case of kidney hypertension or intestinal obstruction.
