Curative properties
Abscess (chest): prepare the juice of 250g of parsley, divide in three parts and add hot wine every time you drink it.
Renal affections, rheumatism, sudorific: boil 50g of leaves and roots in a liter of water for 5 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes and drink two cups daily before meals.
Increase appetite: chew parsley leaves before meals.
Cystitis, worms and intestinal parasites: drink the infusion of parsley dry seeds.
Cuts and scrapes: apply parsley juice over wound and bandage, changing bandage every two hours.
Digestive: drink the parsley infusion and orange skin previously dried.
Menstrual pain: drink the infusion of the parsley seeds or take three spoonfuls of fresh parsley juice.
Expectorant: drink the parsley juice mixed with hot milk.
Nasal hemorrhages: crush the parsley leaves; make a ball and place inside the nose.
Eye inflammation: apply a cataplasm of parsley leaves over eyes.
Bad breath: chew fresh parsley leaves.
Bites: submerge gauze in the parsley juice and apply over bite.
Hangover: boil 50g of parsley, the rind of the grapefruit and 1g of the orange rind in a liter of water until it reduces by half. Sweeten and take one teaspoon in the mornings.
Measles: drink the parsley leaf infusion. Besides, save a little of the infusion, mix with wine and apply over eruptions.
Cough: helpful specially for children. Prepare a parsley juice and add a pinch of powdered cumin. Give the child a spoonful of this preparation 2 to 3 times a day.
Precaution
Big doses of parsley root infusion can provoke congestion in the digestive mucous and uterine contractions, which is why it is prohibited for pregnant women. Any parsley preparation can result toxic or affect kidneys and nervous system if taken in excess.
