Orange and Raisin Crown Cake Recipe
Ingredients 1 and ¼ cups of flour 1 cup of whole-wheat flour ¼ cup of baking soda 1 cup of brown sugar 1 cup of raisins, chopped in pieces 1 tablespoon of grated orange peel 1/3 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice 125 grams of melted butter 1 cup of natural yogurt 2 eggs, slightly beaten Confectioner’s sugar, for decorating
- Preparation time: 20 minutes
- Baking time: 35 minutes
Preparation
- Preheat the oven at a moderate temperature of 180 degrees C. Grease a round 20-centimeter baking pan with melted butter or oil. Wrap the base of the baking pan and the walls with wax paper. Sift both types of flours and the baking soda over a big bowl.
- Add in the sugar, the raisins and the grated orange peel. Mix all the ingredients well. Add in the orange juice, the butter, the natural yogurt and the eggs. Stir well with a wooden spoon until it is all mixed in well together.
- Pour the mixture into the baking mold with the help of a spoon and smoothen out the surface with a spatula. Bake the cake for 35 minutes or until when poking the cake with a wooden pick, it comes out clean. Let it sit for 3 minutes and then put it over a metal rack and allow it to cool. Sprinkle confectioner’s sugar on the top and serve.
