Onions in Natural Remedies

Curative properties 

Acne: grate an onion and mix the resulting juice with mud and honey. Apply hot on pimples with pus. Cover with gauze for a couple of hours and wash.

Stomach, hepatic, renal, urinary tract, rheumatism affections: boil onions and drink the juice as tea.  If not, grate the onion to extract the juice.  Add lemon juice and sugar and take spoonfuls throughout the day and night. For rheumatism, crush some onions, warm in oil and apply over affected area covering with gauze. 

Asthma, bronchitis: cut one onion and mix with 20 garlic cloves.  Place in a glass container with one cup of honey ad let stand for 12 hours.  Take 4 spoonfuls a day.  For bronchitis, grate one onion and mix with the resulting juice with mud.  Apply hot over body, cover with gauze for a few hours and wash.

Hair loss, dandruff: grate an onion and mix resulting juice with a little bit of lemon and nettle juice.  Rub over scalp and leave for an hour.  For dandruff, macerate 400g of grated onions in alcohol of 96º for 10 days.  Then, squeeze, strain and massage scalp. 

Cancer: eat half an onion a day helping avoid digestive tract cancer.

Circulation: eat one onion a day.  Helps blood be in good shape, prevent circulatory and cardiac problems and reduce blood pressure.

Cuts and scrapes: grate an onion and mix the resulting juice with olive oil.  Rub over affected area.

Diarrhea: boil for 10 minutes a fistful of peeled onions in a liter of water.  Drink half a liter a day.

Diuretic, ulcers: grate an onion.  Add lemon and sugar and use the resulting juice taking spoonfuls throughout the day and night.

Molar pain: apply a raw onion over molar or abscess to expel infection or impulse circulation.

Earache: roast an onion, wrap it in gauze and apply over affected area.

Blows, sprains: crush onions, heat in oil and apply over affected area covering with gauze. If not, macerate a raw onion in water and place over affected area.

Flu, laryngitis, and cough: boil onions and drink the resulting juice as tea.  If not, grate an onion to extract the juice.  Add lemon juice and take in spoonfuls throughout the day and night or fasting for 3 days.  You can also slice the onions, sprinkle sugar and macerate in a closed container for several hours.  Take 3 spoonfuls a day of the resulting liquid.  Also blend 200g of onion, 2 peeled garlic teeth, raw or cooked, 2 to 4 times a day.

Infections: eat half a white onion, raw or cooked, 2 to 4 times a day.

Insomnia: cut one onion in half and inhale its smell.  If not, boil onions and drink the resulting liquid before going to bed, adding a little bit of honey or sugar.

Laxative: boil onions and drink the resulting liquid as tea.  You can also grate an onion to extract the juice.  Add lemon juice and take in spoonfuls throughout the day and night.

Worms: cut an onion and macerate 6 days in a liter of white wine.  Drink one cup in the morning when you wake up, during a week, for 2 to 3 months.

Bites, burns: apply raw onion slices over affected area.  If not, grate an onion and apply resulting juice, mixed with salt.

Warts: take off the center of the onion, fill it up with salt and cover again with the extracted part.  Leave in a deep container.  The next day, apply resulting liquid over warts with a hyssop.  Leave for an hour and wash.  Besides, apply slices of onions over the area. 

Precaution
In case of pregnancy or nursing, do not follow any treatment without medical supervision. Consumed in great quantities by nursing mothers, can cause colic to the child.  If you have any digestive problem by eating it raw, try cooking it in vapor fry.
