Marzipan Animal Shapes

Pig
Dye the marzipan a pink color and make a cone to form the body. Cut the thinner part of the cone with scissors to make the hind legs. Arch the figure. On the other extreme, make a slit to separate the head and cut the bottom part in two to make the front legs. With small incisions make the ears and tail. Paint the eyes, hooves and nose.

Chickens
Color a piece of marzipan yellow. Form two balls (a bigger one for the body and a smaller one for the head). Using very sharp scissors make two cuts on the sides of the body to make the wings. Stick the head to the body using egg whites. Stretch a little piece of orange marzipan and make a rhombus. Fold it in half to make the beak. With brown coloring make the eyes.

Giraffes
Dye a portion of the marzipan yellow. Mold a cone with one side very prolonged for the neck and head. On the thicker part make four incisions to make the legs. Lift the neck and bend it forwards to make the head. With small cuts make the ears and the tail. Paint the stains, eyes and nose with brown food coloring.

Squirrels
With brown dyed marzipan, mold a cylinder. Cut it in three pieces (cut two of the extremes smaller). With one of the extremes make a ball to form the head to which with scissors you make the ears. Soften the center cylinder a little and cut the two extremes in half lengthwise to make the legs. Stick the head with egg whites. Give to the other extreme the shape of a tear, squash it and with scissors give to it the shapes of hairs. Stick it standing behind the body. Paint the eyes, nose, whiskers and paws with black food coloring.

Another squirrel
Knead a piece of marzipan and give to it the shape of a sausage of about 7cm in length and 11.5cm in diameter. Pinch one side to make the nose, and make two more pinches on the top to make the ears. With a stick make two holes under the ears to make the eyes. Bend the head softly forwards. Bend up the rest of the remaining half of the roll towards the head. Squash the tip and bend it backwards to make the tail. Make two cuts on the sides of the front to make the paws. Let it dry and paint the body brown (except the face and the abdomen) and the eyes black.

Porcupine
Knead a ball and give to it the shape of a cone (the tip will be the nose of the porcupine). Press both sides of the face of the porcupine with your thumb and index fingers for the place where the eyes will go. Make two holes on them with a stick. Make cuts on the rest of the body in rows to form the spines with pointed scissors starting from the back of the ears. Let it dry and paint the body dark brown, except the area that surrounds the eyes. The eyes are painted black.

Bear
Dye the marzipan a light brown color. Knead two balls to form the head and body. Press the head with your fingers to form the nose. Make two holes for the eyes, two holes for the ears and one in the body for the belly button. Knead two balls to make the ears. Stretch a roll to make the front legs. Cut it in the middle and mark the area where you are going to make the wrists. Stretch another roll to make the hind legs. Cut in two and press one side up to make the paws. Join all the pieces with egg white. With brown dyed royal glaze make the skin. Fill the eyes with black glaze. Paint the eyebrows, nose, mouth, belly button and nails. With a little red dyed stretched marzipan make the tongue and a ribbon for the neck.

Rabbit
Make two marzipan balls (one bigger than the other) for the head and the body, and give them the shapes of cones. Pinch the face to form the nose and two ears. Make two rolls to make the front and hind legs, proceed as with the bear. Stick the pieces with egg whites. Paint the eyes, mouth, nose, whiskers and nails.
