Marbled Cake Recipe
Ingredients 1 packet of cake mixture 1 tablespoon of dark cocoa powder 2 teaspoons of milk Red food coloring 3 teaspoons of finely grated orange skin
- Preparation time: 20 minutes
- Baking time: 35 minutes
Preparation
- Preheat the oven at a moderate temperature of 180 degrees C. Grease a crowned shaped 20 centimeter in diameter baking mold with melted butter or oil. Cover the base and the walls with wax paper. Prepare the cake by following the instructions indicated on the packet. Then distribute the cake dough into three bowls.
- In one of the bowls add in the cocoa powder and the milk. Stir carefully until obtaining a homogenous mixture. In another bowl add in some red food coloring and mix well. In the other bowl add in the grated orange skin and stir well so as to mix all the ingredients.
- With the help of a spoon put the mixture alternating the three mixtures into the mold. Mix the cake dough with a pick so as to create a marbled effect. Smoothen out the surface. Bake the cake for 35 minutes or until when poking a wooden pick into the center of the cake it comes out clean. Let it sit for 10 minutes once it is done baking. Then place it over a metal rack and allow it to cool. Sprinkle it with confectioner’s sugar or with a glazing of your choice and serve.
