Lime Flowers in Medicinal Herbs

Curative properties

Acidity: drink the infusion after each meal.

Hepatic affections: drink the infusion two hours after each meal.

Arthritis: drink the brew.

Hair loss: massage with the leaves.

Renal gallstones: drink the brew.

Sedative: drink the infusion.  Also take one or two teaspoons of syrup or 2 to 4 teaspoons of tincture.  Besides, you can drink one cup of the infusion of one spoonful of lemon balm, one of valerian and one of lime flower per cup of water, once a day.

Scars: apply a cataplasm from the roots over the affected area.

Colic: drink the infusion, 3 to 4 cups a day.

Digestive: drink the infusion, two hours after each meal.

Fever: drink the infusion, 3 to 4 cups a day.

Swelling: apply a leaf cataplasm.

Skin inflammation: do herbal baths to soften the skin.

Insomnia: drink the infusion.  Also take one or two teaspoons of syrup.

Palpitations: drink the infusion. 

Cough: drink the infusion, 3 times a day.  Used as syrup, take 1 to 2 teaspoons a day.

Preparation

Herbal baths: add to the bath the infusion of 100g of leaves in a liter of water.

Cataplasm: crush dry plants until leaves until transforming into powder and soak in hot water or grind fresh plants to form a paste.   Place it in any natural porous fiber and use as bandage over affected area until discomfort diminishes.  Also apply directly over affected area covering the paste with a hot towel.

Brew: boil 30g of the root in a liter of water for 15 minutes.

Infusion: add 20g of flowers in a liter of boiling water.  Remove immediately from heat.  Let stand for 10 minutes, strain and serve.

Syrup: add 20g of lime flowers to 200g of boiling water but away from the heat, let stand for 30 minutes.  Strain an add 300g of sugar.  Heat the mixture in low temperature until it takes the contexture of syrup.

Tincture: macerate 30g of dry flowers in 120g of alcohol of 60º for 7 days.

Precaution
Do not use while pregnant or in patients with cardiac problems.  In case of nursing, do not use without medical supervision.  Do not take in big amounts.  Respect doses.
