Ingredients of cake / bread
125 grams of butter
2 teaspoons of fine grated orange peels
2/3 of a cup of sugar
2 eggs
100 grams of pastry chocolate (in very small pieces)
1½ cups of flour sifted with 1½ teaspoons of baking powder
½ cup of orange juice
¼ of a cup of cocoa in powder
½ cup of sugar
1½ cups of boiling flower
Preparation
- In a large recipient place the butter and the grated orange peels, and whip until it creams. Keep on whipping but go adding sugar little by little until you have a smooth mixture.
- Add the eggs one by one and go whipping between each addition. Later mix the chocolate pieces with the flour and add the eggs. Keep on mixing while you add the orange juice. Empty this into an oiled fireproof mold.
- Sift the cocoa and sugar on the dough in the mold, then pour the boiling water carefully, bake the Jaffa Cake Pudding for 40 minutes or until the pudding is firm.
