Honey, Pecan, and Spices Bread Recipe
Ingredients 1 cup of flour 1 cup of whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon of baking soda ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon and another of varied spices and another of ground ginger ½ cup of pecans, in pieces ¼ cup of brown sugar 125 grams of melted butter 2/3 cup of honey 1 tablespoon of grated orange peels ½ cup of freshly squeezed orange juice 1 egg, slightly beaten
- Preparation time: 20 minutes
- Baking time: 55 minutes
Preparation
- Preheat the oven at a moderate temperature of 160 degrees C. Grease a rectangular 14 by 21 by 7 centimeters in diameter with a little bit of melted butter or oil. Wrap the base with wax paper.
- Sift the flours, the baking soda and the spices in a big bowl. Then add the pecans and the sugar to the mixture and mix well. Add in the butter, the honey, the grated orange peels, the orange juice, and the egg. Use a wooden spoon to mix all the ingredients in well.
- Pour the preparation into the baking mold. Bake for 55 minutes or until when poking it with a wooden pick, it comes out clean. Let it sit for 3 minutes once it’s done. After this, put the cake over a metal rack and let it cool. Cover it with butter cream and citrus, or serve it cut into slices with butter.
