Hierba Santa in Medicinal Herbs

Curative properties 

Acne: apply cream or ointment.

Bronchitis: drink one cup of  the brew, 3 times a day.

Sedative: helps calm the nerves.  Drink the brew as drinking water.

Digestive: drink the infusion, one cup 3 times a day.

Joint pain: apply a cataplasm from the brew over the affected area.

Throat pain: do gargles with the infusion from the dry leaves.

Furuncle: apply cream or ointment.

Skin inflammation: wash the affected area with the brew of 20g from the root per liter of water. 

Menstrual problems: to induce or help your menstruation.  Drink one cup of the infusion from 5g of leaves, 3 times a day.

Rheumatism: wash the affected area with the maceration.

Baby rash: wash the affected area with the maceration.

Preparation 

Cataplasm: grind dry plants until transforming it into powder and soak in hot water or grind the fresh plant until forming a paste.   Place them in any natural porous fiber and use as bandage over affected area until discomfort diminishes. Also apply directly over affected area covering the paste with a hot towel.

Brew: boil in low temperature 10g of leaves between 10 to 30 minutes.  Turn it off, let stand for a few minutes and strain. 

Creams and ointments: heat up in low temperature for an hour 85g of herb in powder, 28g of bee wax and 200g of cocoa or vegetal fat.  Remove from heat.  Strain and refrigerate until it becomes solid. 

Maceration: let stand from one to two hours in the sun, the new leaves in cold water. Strain and use it.

Precaution
In case of pregnancy or nursing, do not use without medical supervision.
