Grapefruit Jam

Grapefruit Jam

Ingredients
Grapefruit, 1 kilogram
Water, 3 liters
Sugar, 2 and ½ kilograms

Preparation
Wash and cut the whole grapefruit (peel and everything) into very fine strips. Take out the seeds and let them macerate for one day in a cup with a little bit of hot water. Cook the grapefruit in water and then let it sit for another day. Add in the fruit, the sugar, and the gluey water the seeds let off while macerating. Cook at low fire until it acquires the desired consistency. Cooking time can take up to around an hour. Bottle hot. Allow it to cool and then keep in the refrigerator.
