Ingredients for 2 liters
1 kg of red gooseberries
250 grs. black gooseberries
1 kg of sugar
Preparation: approximately 50 min.
- While you detach the stems off the red gooseberries, go washing and drying them.
- Boil the gooseberries in a pot with ¼ of a cup of water: Let them boil for about 4min at a low flame while you stir them slowly, just until they release enough juice.
- Strain the red gooseberries with a cloth and put the juice on a side, (make sure you squeeze out the cloth well.
- Measure the juice, there should be about ¾ of a liter. If not, complete with water.
- Wash, dry and detach the stems off the black gooseberries.
- Wash the crystals recipients with hot water, and let them drip dry.
- Boil and stir together the sugar with the juice of the red gooseberries in a pot.
- Add the black gooseberries to the mixture, and boil for another 2min at a low flame,
- Fill the crystal recipients with the gooseberry jelly and close them immediately. The jelly will last for about 6 months in a fresh place.
