Double Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients 250 grams of butter 200 grams of dark chocolate in pieces 1 and ½ cups of extra fine sugar ¼ cup of whisky 1 cup of hot water 1 and ½ cups of all purpose flour ½ cup of white flour ½ cup of cocoa powder 2 eggs, slightly beaten Additional cocoa powder and confectioner’s sugar for decorating cake
- Preparation time: 20 minutes
- Baking time: 50 minutes
Preparation
- Preheat the oven at a temperature of 150 degrees C. Grease two deep round 20-centimeter baking molds with melted butter or oil. Cover the bases with wax paper.
- Melt the butter in a casserole. Add in the chocolate, the sugar, the whisky and the hot water and mix it until it is homogenous. Allow it to cool slightly and then put it in a big bowl.
- Sift both types of flour and the cocoa powder and add it into the mixture. Beat it until you obtain a homogenous mixture without lumps. Then add in the eggs while still mixing. Divide the mixture into the two baking molds and bake them for 50 minutes or until the cakes are firm. Leave them in the baking molds until they have cooled completely. Then put them together with butter and chocolate cream. Sprinkle the top of the cake with the cocoa powder mixture and the confectioner’s sugar.
