For people that enjoy the taste of coffee but find themselves susceptible to the effects of caffeine, there are actually some decaffeinated coffees on the market, both toasted coffee beans as well as instant coffee.
Caffeine doesn’t actually have any taste to it meaning that when it is taken out of a coffee bean before it is toasted, in principle, does not have to affect the flavor of the coffee at all. The problem is more focused on removing it, while at the same time conserving the precious flavors of the coffee intact. There are several methods of doing this.
The dissolvent method consists on putting the coffee beans to soak in hot water for several hours, and this is the method that is more frequently used. The water is then strained into these reservoirs where a dissolvent is added to it, which absorbs the caffeine. Immediately after the dissolved is separated from the water, which is now free of caffeine and of the dissolvent, while it still contains some of the essential coffee flavors. The beans are then put in the water so that the flavors can be reabsorbed.
Caffeine is sold for pharmaceutical places and soda fabricators and by which, in theory, everything should be perfect. However many people that are concerned about their health show themselves opposed to using chemical substances in the dissolvent. Experiments are being done to try to figure out a way of removing caffeine without having to use chemical substances.
