Date Pudding

Ingredients
60 grams of butter
180 grams of sugar
2 eggs
240 ml of water
180 grams of de boned dates
1 teaspoon of baking soda
180 grams of prepared flour
Whipped cream, for serving
Caramel sauce, for serving

Preparation

  1. Beat the butter and the sugar until you obtain a spongy mixture. Go adding in the eggs one by one and continue mixing until the ingredients are all well combined. Pour the water in a pot and add in the dates. Bring this to a boil and add in the baking soda stirring until it dissolves, then take it off the heat.
  2. Place the flour into the butter, sugar and egg mixture and add in the dates and water to it.
  3. Grease and sprinkle flour in a baking tray of 1.5 l of capacity. Pour the mixture in distributing it evenly all over the tray.
  4. Bake at 170 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife that has been poked into the middle of the pie comes out clean. Turn the baking tray once while it is in the oven cooking. Serve hot with whipped cream and caramel sauce if you wish.
