Coffee and Sour Cream Cake Recipe
Ingredients 125 grams of butter 1 cup of extra fine sugar 3 eggs, slightly beaten 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence 1 tablespoon of instant coffee ¾ of white flour ½ cup of all purpose flour 1/3 cup of sour cream
- Preparation time: 25 minutes
- Baking time: 30 to 40 minutes
Preparation
- Preheat the oven at a medium temperature of 160 degrees C. Grease the base and the walls of a rectangular 28 by 18 centimeter mold with melted butter or oil. Cover the base and the walls with wax paper.
- Beat the butter and the sugar in a small bowl until you obtain a light creamy mixture. Add in the eggs gradually while constantly beating. Dissolve the vanilla essence and the coffee in 1 tablespoon of warm water and add it into the mixture. Beat all the ingredients well
- Put the mixture into a big bowl. Use a metal spoon and add in both sifted flours alternating with the sour cream. Put the mixture in the mold with the help of a spoon and smoothen out the surface. Bake the cake from 30 to 40 minutes or until when poking the center of the cake with a wooden pick it comes out clean. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then put it over a metal rack and allow it to cool. Once cooled, cover it with coffee glazing and decorate with sugarcoated candy.
