Coffee and Date Bread
This is a simple “tea bread” which is delicious cut in slices and spread with butter.
Ingredients: 225 gr. self-rising flour 1 teaspoon of baking powder 55 gr. soft butter 2 tablespoons of honey 165 chopped up dates 7 tablespoons of milk 1 tablespoon of instant coffee
Preparation: Butter a half-kilogram bread pan. Sprinkle the flour and the baking powder in a bowl. Add in the rest of the ingredients and beat it well for 1 minute. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and level out the surface. Put it to bake in a moderately hot temperature at 190 degrees Celsius for 50 minutes until it has raised well, poke it with a toothpick, if it comes out clean, it is ready. Leave it inside the baking pan for 2 or 3 minutes and then take it out and let in cool.
