Ingredients:
½ kilo apples
½ kilo pears
¼ kilo prunes
¼ kilo dried peaches
¼ kilo dried figs
100 gr raisins
100 gr nuts
1 big cup of Oporto
3 cinnamon sticks
1 dab of nutmeg
1 lemon
1 orange
1 cup sugar
Preparation:
- Wash the dried fruit and dampen in the Oporto.
- Peel the apples and cut them in fours, dampen them with lemons.
- Do the same with the pears.
- Prepare syrup with water and sugar; add the cinnamon, nutmeg and gratings.
- Once it has been cooking for 5 minutes, remove the cinnamon sticks. Cook the pears, apples, the whole figs, the dried peaches, the pit removed prunes and the raisins.
- Boil for ½ hour until it’s all soft, add the Oporto used for soaking and put 2 or 3 prunes, dried peaches and ½ apple in beater.
- Thicken the sauce with this puree.
- Serve cold and with the chopped nuts on top, it can be accompanied with skimmed milk
