Chard in Natural Remedies

 

Curative properties

Acne: wash a fresh leaf and place over affected area.

Hepatic affections: boil the roots ad drink the obtained liquid.  You can also drink the chard juice with a little bit of salt.

Arteriosclerosis, circulation: crush the chard with water and squeeze to obtain juice. Drink up to 100ml per day.

Hair loss, dandruff: boil the chard leaves in water with vinegar and wash the head with this mixture.

Bladder gallstones: drink, while fasting, one cup of chard juice and watercress in equal parts.

Cuts and scrapes, blows, swelling: apply a cataplasm with the fresh grinded leaves.

Diarrhea, gastrointestinal inflammation: add 20g of chard to a liter boiling water.  Drink 2 to 3 cups of this infusion.  Let stand and if desired, you can sweetened it with honey.  To diminish discomfort, you can apply an enema of the chard brew.  To calm the stomach irritation, you can eat boiled leaves.

Stomach: eat chard in salads, dressed with lemon juice to fortify the stomach.

Fever: boil the leaves and apply the remaining liquid as an enema.  To better effect, boil the chard roots well crushed with a little bit of chamomile and mallow and apply the enema.

Hemorrhoids: boil chard leaves for 5 to 10 minutes, let cool and apply enema.  You can also apply a cataplasm of fresh grinded leaves over affected area.

Eye inflammation: apply the fresh leaves, well washed over temples.

Laxative: eat the leaves frequently.  If not, crush the chard with water and squeeze to obtain the juice.  Drink half a cup of juice plus a spoonful of olive oil. You can also boil the leaves and drink the remaining liquid.

Neuralgic: eat the chard with salads dressed with lemon juice.  You can also drink the juice of raw chard up to 100ml per day.

Burns: boil the chard leaves in water with vinegar and wash the affected area with this liquid.  You can also apply a fresh grinded leave cataplasm to reduce pain and inflammation.

Rheumatism: apply several times a day a fresh chard leaf cataplasm and celery.

Precaution
In case of pregnancy or nursing, do not use without medical supervision.
