Cake Decorating with Roses
Wild rose
- Stretch the pale rose paste until making it almost transparent. Cut five petals, give the top sides of each one lace trims and let them dry on buttered Styrofoam balls.
- Cut a chalice with the same paste used for the flowers and place it on a concave surface, stick on top of it the already dried petals with Arabic glue. First superimpose two petals and then and them place one on the opposite side, the two remaining are placed on the free spaces. Try to make all the petals be superimposed. Make a hole in the center and let them dry. Remove once dried.
- Place a little yellow glaze in the center. Introduce a folded tip florist wire and let it dry.
- Make as little yellow glazed bag in the center of the flower and stick 45 to 50 mini-pistils. Stretch a piece of with glue paste and another green glue paste very thinly, place them on top of each other and use a roller to join them.
- Cut a chalice with a radius of about 2/3 of the petals approximately. Form the tips with a bobbin.
- Place a wire in the center of the chalice and stick it to the base of the flower with Arabic glue. Make a little ball of green paste and stick it around the stem under the chalice.
Rose
- Dye the glue paste in three tones that you desire, in degrade. Fold a tip of a thick florist wire and make a cone with the darker paste. The cone should be 2cm shorter than the finished flower. Stretch the dark paste; cut 3 to 5 petals and thin them with a bobbin. Paint its base with Arabic glue to stick them. The first one is rolled around the cone. Place the second one opposite to the first. The third one should be stretched slightly wider and much thinner than the other two. Place it in a superimposed form of the already made bud. Add one or two more in the same manner. Fold the sides of the petals slightly outwards (with the exception of the two first petals.
- Stretch the lighter colored paste; cut 5 petals and give them shape. Superimpose them the same way as done with the previous ones. Bend the sides. Proceed the same way with the lighter paste, cut the amount of petal needed to give the rose its desired size. Let it dry. Stretch the green and white paste, place them on top of each other and pass them with a roller. Cut a chalice with special cutter. Stretch each sepal with a bobbin until making it long and very thin. With a scalpel make one or two cuts on the sides of each one.
- Stick a ball of green paste in the base of the flower and above this stick the chalice.
- Fold the tips of the sepals outward and downwards. Cover the wires with green paste to give to it the look of a stem. Make small triangles of brown paste and stick them to the stem as thorns. Stretch the green paste very thin; cut the rose leaves and make the nerves. Stick them to the pieces of green wire. You must make three big leaves and two smaller ones. Paint the borders a red color. Let it dry completely.
- On a piece of thicker wire make a leaf in the following manner: with green florist tape tighten one of the bigger leaves to the tip of the wire; under it place other two and then the smaller ones at the base. Add this composed leaf to the stem of the flower.
Giant rose
- Color a portion of glue paste a light pink and stretch it until making it almost transparent.
- Cut five petals using a big rose cutter. Give each petal a lace trim with a decorating stick.
- Place the petal in the palm of your hand with starch and curve it with the thumb of your other hand.
- Cut five petals with a small rose cutter. Place a square of aluminum foil on a concave surface, and press it for it to get its form. With yellow glaze make a ball in the center of the lamina. Place each large petal around the glaze slightly superimposed. The smaller petals are placed standing on the larger petals using more yellow glaze to stick. They should be also superimposed (place the last petal at an angle).
- Make another yellow glaze ball with a ripple filter tip in the center of the flower and place the yellow stamens of varied lengths there. Use the help of a pin.
