Boldo in Medicinal Herbs
Curative properties
Bile affections: boil and drink thebrew, drink 3 cups a day for 15 days.
Hepatic affections: boil and drink the infusion or the brew.
Bile, secretion and evacuation: in infusion, drink 3 to 4 cups a day. Can also be taken as wine or syrup.
Bile gallstones: as infusion, drink 3 to 4 cups a day. Can also be taken as wine or syrup. In tincture, drink 2 to 4ml, twice a day.
Sedative: boil and drink the infusion or the brew from fresh leaves, 3 to 4 times a day.
Caries: apply ground, fresh or dry leaves, lightly warmed in area where it’s bothering.
Headache: in infusion, drink one cup 3 times a day.
Digestive: in infusion, drink one cup 2 to 3 times a day, first one to drink while fasting. In brew, drink one cup before meals.
Laxative: It’s soft. In infusion, drink one cup after meals. Brew, one cup before meals.
Blood cleanliness: infusion, drink one cup 2 to 3 times a day, first one to drink while fasting. Brew, drink one cup before meals.
Preparation
Brew: boil 20 leaves in one liter of water during 15 minutes. Turn off heat, let stand for a few minutes and strain.
Infusion: add 10g of plant in one liter of boiling water. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Strain and serve.
Syrup: crush 100g of leaves and let macerate during 5 hours in one liter of water. Filter and add 950g of white sugar. Melt in a double sauce pan. Bottle it and seal.
Tincture: submerge 20g of flowers and leaves in one liter of alcohol of 60º, 65º, 70º or 95º. Seal and macerate between 8 to 15 days. Shake the container every day. Filter and bottle it, preferably in a dark airtight bottle. Serve with water. For a less concentrated product, add the same amount of water to the alcohol.
Wine: crush 90g of leaves and macerate during 8 to 9 days in one liter of sweet wine, white or red wine.
Precaution Do no use if pregnant, nursing or in patients with bile tract obstruction. Do not give to children under 6 years old.
