Bavarian Hazelnut
Ingredients 3 teaspoons of Jell-O 6 teaspoons of cold water 125 ml of milk 60 grams of sugar 4 egg yolks 125 grams of ground hazelnuts 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 250 ml of double cream Cocoa powder, for serving Caramel sauce, for serving
Preparation
- Dissolve the Jell-O in the cold water and then add hot water over it to dissolve it completely.
- Heat the milk. Then mix the sugar and the egg yolks in a double boiler and gradually add in the milk by constantly stirring until the mixture begins to thicken. Put this in the dissolved Jell-O and add in the ground hazelnuts and the vanilla extract. Refrigerate until it begins to solidify.
- Beat the double cream and then add it to the mixture. Pour this in a serving bowl or in individual serving bowls and place in the refrigerator until you intend to serve it out. Sprinkle the cocoa powder over the top and serve with caramel sauce if you like.
