Apples in the Oven Recipe
Ingredients: 4 apples 150 grs of sugar 2 tbsps of powdered sugar 1 cup of white wine 4 tbsps of rum 50 grs of raisins 2 egg whites
Preparation: Place the raisins in boiling water for a while, strain them and are mixed with the rum. Wash and dry the apples. Remove the core with a fine point knife or with a special apparatus for this use, trying not to cut the bottom of the fruit. Place them in an oven tray, fill in the holes with the sugar and on top of that bathe them with the wine and sprinkle the remaining powdered sugar.
Place the apples at a medium heat oven (150degrees) and cook for ¾ of an hour until they soften. Once this time is done, place the raisins on top of the apples and let them cook for another 15 minutes.
On the meantime, beat the egg whites with the powdered sugar until stiff. Once the meringue is prepared cover the top of the apples with it and place it on the oven again for a few minutes for them to crystallize.
