Apple Strudel

 

Apple Strudel

  • For: 6-8 servings
  • Time: 75 minutes

 

Ingredients:
450 grs flour
300 grs butter
1 kg apples
1 lemon
100 grs raisins
1 egg
1 cup sweet sherry
350 grs sugar
liquid skimmed milk, lemon peel

Preparation:

  1. Put the raisins to soak in the sherry.
  2. Peel the apples, remove the core and cut them in thin slices.
  3. Put them in a pot with a cup of water, 5 tbsps of sugar, a lemon peel and the raisins.
  4. Cook at a moderate heat until the liquid evaporates.
  5. Make dough with the flour, the butter and the rest of the sugar.
  6. Extend the half of the dough and place the apples with the raisins on top. Cover with the other half of the dough to make a long 30 cm cake.
  7. Beat an egg and spread over the dough.
  8. Make an edge on the sides and bake for 25-30 minutes at a moderate heat.
