Apple Strudel
- For: 6-8 servings
- Time: 75 minutes
Ingredients: 450 grs flour 300 grs butter 1 kg apples 1 lemon 100 grs raisins 1 egg 1 cup sweet sherry 350 grs sugar liquid skimmed milk, lemon peel
Preparation:
- Put the raisins to soak in the sherry.
- Peel the apples, remove the core and cut them in thin slices.
- Put them in a pot with a cup of water, 5 tbsps of sugar, a lemon peel and the raisins.
- Cook at a moderate heat until the liquid evaporates.
- Make dough with the flour, the butter and the rest of the sugar.
- Extend the half of the dough and place the apples with the raisins on top. Cover with the other half of the dough to make a long 30 cm cake.
- Beat an egg and spread over the dough.
- Make an edge on the sides and bake for 25-30 minutes at a moderate heat.
