Apple Jam

 

Ingredients for 2 liters
2 kg of apples
1 cinnamon stem
2 lemons
1 kg of sugar
  • Time of preparation: 20 min. approx.
  • Time of marinating: 8 hrs. approx.
  • Cooking time: 25 min.
  1. Wash and dry the apples with a table cloth. Then slice them in 8 pieces and withdraw their seeds.
  2. Place the apples with cinnamon stem in a pot with a liter of water. Wash the lemons with hot water before peeling them. Make sure the peel stays extremely thin, and add place them in the pot.
  3. Place the pot on a flame until it boils, then leave on a low flame for about 20 min. without forgetting to stir it.
  4. Strain the mixture in a cloth, letting it drain for a whole night. You should obtain an approx. of 900 ml. of juice.
  5. Squeeze out both lemons, and add a liter of water with the lemon juice to the apple mixture.
  6. Wash the crystals recipients with hot water, and let them drip dry.
  7. Go adding the sugar with the pot on a full fire. Once it begins to boil leave it on low flame until the sugar melts down. Approx 2-3 min.
  8. Make sure the sugar is well diluted, and fill out the crystal recipients with the apple mixture and close them immediately. The jelly will last for about 6 months in a fresh place.
