Apple Jam
Ingredients for 2 liters 2 kg of apples 1 cinnamon stem 2 lemons 1 kg of sugar
- Time of preparation: 20 min. approx.
- Time of marinating: 8 hrs. approx.
- Cooking time: 25 min.
- Wash and dry the apples with a table cloth. Then slice them in 8 pieces and withdraw their seeds.
- Place the apples with cinnamon stem in a pot with a liter of water. Wash the lemons with hot water before peeling them. Make sure the peel stays extremely thin, and add place them in the pot.
- Place the pot on a flame until it boils, then leave on a low flame for about 20 min. without forgetting to stir it.
- Strain the mixture in a cloth, letting it drain for a whole night. You should obtain an approx. of 900 ml. of juice.
- Squeeze out both lemons, and add a liter of water with the lemon juice to the apple mixture.
- Wash the crystals recipients with hot water, and let them drip dry.
- Go adding the sugar with the pot on a full fire. Once it begins to boil leave it on low flame until the sugar melts down. Approx 2-3 min.
- Make sure the sugar is well diluted, and fill out the crystal recipients with the apple mixture and close them immediately. The jelly will last for about 6 months in a fresh place.
