Apple cake

 

Apple cake

  • For  6 servings
  • Difficulty  medium
  • Time  1 ½ hours

 

Ingredients
500 gr. apples
2 eggs
100 gr. butter
100 gr. Flour
100 gr. Sugar
½ tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
A sprinkle of lemon to make the sugar syrup
1 tbsp sugar
1tbsp butter to pour on the apples

Preparation

  1. Caramel a round mold’s surface.
  2. Peel apples and remove the core.
  3. Place the peels and core in a pot with a cup of sugar and ½ cup of water.
  4. Cook until it becomes a light sugar syrup.
  5. Strain and reserve.
  6. Cut the apples into thin slices and add them into the mold, adding the caramel by layers.
  7. Between each layer add sugar and small dice of butter.
  8. Beat the butter and sugar until very fluffy
  9. Add the eggs one by one and continue stirring.
  10. Add the flour and baking soda.
  11. Stir well and pour into the mold.
  12. Place into the oven for 45 minutes.
  13. It’s important that the oven is at a moderate temperature.
  14. Remove from oven and spread the sugar syrup on top
  15. Once it is drenched remove from mold.

Practical advice
Decorate with skimmed milk or meringue, if you wish you can bake the cake in a long mold.
