Apple cake
- For 6 servings

- Time 1 ½ hours
Ingredients 500 gr. apples 2 eggs 100 gr. butter 100 gr. Flour 100 gr. Sugar ½ tsp baking soda 1 cup of sugar A sprinkle of lemon to make the sugar syrup 1 tbsp sugar 1tbsp butter to pour on the apples
Preparation
- Caramel a round mold’s surface.
- Peel apples and remove the core.
- Place the peels and core in a pot with a cup of sugar and ½ cup of water.
- Cook until it becomes a light sugar syrup.
- Strain and reserve.
- Cut the apples into thin slices and add them into the mold, adding the caramel by layers.
- Between each layer add sugar and small dice of butter.
- Beat the butter and sugar until very fluffy
- Add the eggs one by one and continue stirring.
- Add the flour and baking soda.
- Stir well and pour into the mold.
- Place into the oven for 45 minutes.
- It’s important that the oven is at a moderate temperature.
- Remove from oven and spread the sugar syrup on top
- Once it is drenched remove from mold.
Practical advice Decorate with skimmed milk or meringue, if you wish you can bake the cake in a long mold.
