Anisette in Medicinal Herbs
Curative properties
- Digestive: drink the infusion of ¼ spoonful of crushed seeds for one cup. Drink lukewarm 3 to 4 times a week after meals. For kids, reduce dose to 3 granite seeds. It can also be taken as tincture.
- Diuretic: boil and drink the brew from the root.
- Headaches: do inhalations.
- Expectorant: drink the infusion. Facilitates and relieves pain cause by dry and rough cough. Useful for bronchitis and pharyngitis.
- Gases: for prevention and elimination. Drink the infusion of ¼ crushed seeds per cup of water. Drink lukewarm 3 to 4 times a day after meals. For kids, reduce dose to 3 granites of seeds. Can also be taken as tincture.
- Breastfeeding: drink the infusion or brew to stimulate milk production.
Menstrual problems: drink the brew to regulate and stimulate menstrual flow.
Sinusitis or respiratory infections: do inhalations, helps eliminate mucous from the air conducts.
Preparation
- Brew: add plants to the pot with water and let boil between 15 to 30 minutes. Turn it off, let stand & strain. Drink after dinner.
- Infusion: place a teaspoon full of seeds in a cup and to add boiling water. Let stand for 15 minutes. Drink after each meal.
- Inhalations: boil water and add the plant. Absorb steam directly from the pot, covering head with a towel and closing eyes and mouth. You can also use a paper or carton cone that adapts mouth and nose.
- Tincture: macerate 60g of seeds in half a liter of alcohol of 60 degrees during 9 days, shaking it daily. You can add a little bit of cinnamon. Drink one spoonful in half a cup of water after meals.
Precaution Do no use during pregnancy. Occasionally produces allergic reactions in skin, respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. In excessive and long doses, it’s narcotic. Improper and long consumption of aniseed-flavored drinks provokes nervous disorders.
