Alum Root in Medicinal Herbs
Curative properties
Aphthas or mouth sores: do gargles with the leaf infusion.
Diarrhea: very helpful for children. Drink the leaf infusion.
Toothache: to stop bleeding from a tooth extraction, apply compresses or grinded leaves directly over the painful area.
Pharyngitis: do gargles with the leaf infusion.
Nasal hemorrhages: apply as compresses over affected area.
Hemorrhoid: boil and drink the infusion 3 times a day or apply as compresses over affected area.
Menstrual problems: controls excessive loss of blood. Drink the infusion.
Gastric ulcer: drink the leaf infusion.
Preparation
Compresses: submerge any natural porous fiber in the infusion and place it over the affected area until discomfort diminishes. Can also be used cold.
Infusion: add 10g of the plant into boiling water. Cover and let stand between 5 to 10 minutes. Do not drink more than 2 times a day.
Precaution In case of pregnancy or nursing, do not use without medical supervision.
