Already 25 Years Cake Recipe
Materials Cake made with a horseshoe mold Cardboard base of the same shape as the cake Round or oval wooden base with a border 5 cm bigger than the cake 1 recipe of fondant or marzipan ¼ kg sweet condensed milk 1 recipe of royal glaze ½ recipe of pastry glue Yellow food coloring paste Decorating sleeve Filter tips #00 and 10 Embroidery design Butter paper Petal cutters Green wrapped wire Arabic glue White string with the same thickness as the height of the base (amount needed)
Paste flowers Make 5 open flowers and 10 barely open and 6 buds.
Place them in wires
Stretch the white glue paste very thin and cut strings of 1,5 cm wide.
With a stick mark the borders and form 8 wire ribbons and some tails.
Make a bunch with the flowers and the ribbons.
Shaping and decoration
- Place the cake on top of the cardboard base and spread it with condensed milk.
- Extend the white paste and wrap the cake. Wrap the base with the remaining paste and stick the string around it. Place the cake on top of the wrapped base.
- Trace the design of the embroidery and transfer it to the cake.
- Trace the embroidery with white glaze3 and filter tips #00 and 10 according to its corresponding area.
- Make a cord as a lower ribbing with filter tip #10 and white glaze.
- Using the same filter tip and white glaze make a top ribbing with loose waves. Place the bunch in the front and the numbers in the back.
Liquid glaze brushing
- Work with the liquid glaze using a medium tipped glaze remembering what was explained in the liquid glaze technique.
- Make the less highlighted areas first.
- Let it dry very well.
- Fill in the parts that should be superimposed.
- When all the work is ready and dry, paint the eyes, eyebrows and whiskers of the characters with a fine tipped brush and black food coloring.
Note These plaques can be done previous of making the cake and can be stored conveniently conditioned in boxes.
